Conceptual tree

Context: The position of the masks affects the nature of the join. If the masks are fairly close to the lens, say within two or three inches, the join will be soft. If the masks are much farther away from the lens a sharp dividing line can be produced. The technique calls for considerable experiment to attain perfection.
