Subject Field: Cinematography, Chemistry

Special reflex reflecting screen manufactured by the Minnesota Mining & Mfg. Co. Scotchlite is available in a variety of colors, but for average photographic usage Imperial White, Silver-White, and Signal Silver are the most practical choices because of their higher reflectance and inherently good color characteristics. The reflectances of these surfaces are 100, 130 and 200 times that of flat white paint, respectively.

Context: It has been found at UCLA that plate glass is the most satisfactory base material for small screens; however, Scotchlite mounted on plastic sheeting, stretched taut with rubber bands in the manner of standard rear-projection screens, is adequate.
